It’s about time

It’s about time I read the last book in the Harry Potter series. The first part of its film adaptation will be shown all over the world in 3 weeks.  As if it’s something I still need to announce! 🙂
I am not a big Harry Potter fan but I enjoyed reading all books of his adventures in Hogwarts for six years.  I don’t even own any book in the series.  I remember borrowing books 1 (Sorcerer’s Stone) and 2 (Chamber of Secrets) from my college bestfriend and fellow booklover Bam, and book 3 (Prisoner of Azkaban – which is my favorite of them all, even if I haven’t read the 7th!) from my friend Sarah.  Sometime ago, I re-read books 1 thru 6, graciously lent to me by my officemate Sheila.  A big HP fan, she selflessly lent me her hardcover copy of HP and the Deathly Hallows right after I finished book six (Half-Blood Prince).
It’s been two years and I still haven’t read it.
When I was cleaning my book closet after this year’s international book fair, I found Deathly Hallows, and out of shame, I asked Sheila if she would mind if I cover it with plastic.  That’s the best I could do for letting it stay with me for that long.
Anyway, I intend to gobble it up before the movie opens soon.  You know me, I willingly get swayed by hype so I’m not really gonna let this one pass, hahaha! 🙂

  1. isoli mo na yun chelsea lately ko!!!!!!

    hi, halfcrazy!

  2. And yes, you should totally try Cashewblanca sa Cerealicious. Favorite ko kasi ang Kasoy! Kaya yun ang lagi kong inoorder. Haha okay, tama na, ang daldal ko na masyado.

  3. I know, it’s never too late to catch up but I’m so behind on reading right now, I totally abandoned two books I bought from the SMX book fair – you’ve probably heard of it. The MIBF!

Ayan sabi na e, nabasa mo na rin. Haha I haven’t read CF and MJ yet. Saka na, when budget permits. Diba kase, ang mahal nung hardbound na available. Marketing strategy nila yun e! Buti merong softbound sa Fully Booked yata yun or Powerbooks. Hindi ko matandaan. o.o

I love Casablanca too! Isama mo na rin other classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Some Like It Hot, Sunset Blvd., and others!

    • Yeah, ang tagal maglabas ng softbound ng Catching Fire eh, lalo pa siguro yung Mockingjay. I did not buy any of them as well. I borrowed the first two from my book club and got an e-book of MJ, though a friend has her own which she said I can borrow anytime. Ewan ko ba, like HP, like ko na naman sila, but with all the shameless book hoarding I do, hindi ko sila binili, hehe. Weird.

  4. Hey there!

Wow, I haven’t touched anything HP for a few years now. I keep missing HP movies on theaters. I have only read the first four books. After that, I don’t know what happened to me. It is an engrossing series.

Now I’m engrossed at The Hunger Games. You go with the hype, right? Try reading the Hunger Games. You are a bookworm! Chances are you have already read the Hunger Games!

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you have also watched Casablanca. That quote in your header was Bogart’s catchphrase in the movie!

    • Hi!
Never too late to catch up! 🙂

You’re right, I already read THG and Catching Fire. I am looking forward to read Mockingjay soon. There’s just too many books in my TBR pile.

And yes, that line’s from Casablanca. It’s one of my favorite films of all time.
      Thaks for dropping by!
